Privacy Policy

INTRODUCTION. Climate Earth, Inc. (“us,” “we,” or “Company”), has created this Website Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) to explain the information practices and protection of privacy policies of the site and services provided at www.gemi.climateearth.com (together, “Site”). For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “you” means you personally together with the company or entity you are representing in using the Site. The Site is a joint collaboration of Company, together with University of Minnesota, and its NorthStar Initiative for Sustainable Enterprise (NiSE) ("University"), and the Supply Chain Sustainability Work Group of the Global Environmental Management Initiative (“GEMI” and together with University, our “Collaborators”). This Privacy Policy is only applicable to the Site, and not to any other websites that you may be able to access from the Site, each of which may have data collection, storage, and use practices and policies that differ materially from this Privacy Policy.

THE SITE IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY, ANY INFORMATION YOU ENTER INTO THE SITE WILL BE VIEWABLE BY ANY PERSON VISITING THE SITE AND MAY BE FOUND BY ANY PERSON VIA AN INTERNET SEARCH. THE SITE DOES NOT MAINTAIN SECURITY MEASURES TO PREVENT THE LOSS, MISUSE, AND ALTERATION OF THE INFORMATION THAT WE OBTAIN FROM YOU, AND WE MAKE NO ASSURANCES ABOUT OUR ABILITY TO PREVENT ANY SUCH LOSS, MISUSE, OR ALTERATION, OR TO PREVENT DAMAGES TO YOU OR TO ANY THIRD PARTY ARISING OUT OF ANY SUCH LOSS, MISUSE, OR ALTERATION. DO NOT INPUT ANY INFORMATION YOU REGARD AS CONFIDENTIAL OR PROPRIETARY.

Information Collection Practices. In operating the Site, Company may include online surveys, and other online forms that ask users to provide information about your business, purchasing categories, purchase portfolios and financial information relating thereto. We collect both information provided by you, as well as information we receive on you based on your use of the Site. We collect:

“Scenario Data” which is information you choose to share in the course of using the Site, such as by creating purchase scenarios by selecting purchase categories relating to a purchase portfolio and/or financial information entered by you relating to spend across purchase categories. As well, if you communicate with us by e-mail, post messages to any of our chat groups, bulletin boards, or forums, or otherwise complete online forms or surveys, any information provided in such communication may be collected as Scenario Data.

“Traffic Data” which is general information that is automatically tracked and collected collect when you visit or use the Site such as (1) time and date of use; (2) IP addresses; (3) domain servers; (4) types of computers accessing the Site; and (5) types of web browsers used to access the Site. Traffic Data is anonymous information that does not personally identify you, but that may be helpful for marketing purposes or for improving the services we offer.

How we use the information we receive

Scenario Data. When you create a scenario, the information you input is memorized by our system to create a scenario that is available to the public. This means that Scenario Data is always publicly available and anyone who accesses the Site will be able to see it. Although unlikely, it is possible this information can be associated with you and your company. This information can show up when someone does a search on the Site or on a public search engine. Our ownership rights with respect Scenario Data are set forth in the Terms of Use, which you must agree to as a condition of using the Site. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. Since Scenario Data is public, we cannot control how this information may be disseminated or used. Our use of Scenario Information may include, without limitation, use by us or our Collaborators in research and publications. You may choose not to provide us with any Scenario Data. In such an event, you can still access and use some of the Site; however you will not be able to access and use those portions of the Site that require Scenario Data.

Traffic Data. We will not intentionally make Traffic Data publicly available. However, other than security features maintained by our service provider (Google Analytics), at this time we do not maintain any security features with respect to Traffic Data. It may be possible for third parties to enter our system and extract this information, and we provide no guarantees about the security of your information. We, as well as out Collaborators, use Traffic Data to analyze our Site traffic, but we do not examine this information for individually identifying information. In addition, we may use anonymous IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our site, or to display the content according to your preferences. We and our Collaborators may use Traffic Data for business development and funding purposes. Traffic and transaction information will be shared with our Collaborators. We retain the right to share your information with third parties as necessary to: (a) comply with a court order or other legal process; (b) protect our rights or property; (c) enforce our Terms of Service; or (d) protect the safety of the public or users of the Site.

Sale of Information. In order to accommodate changes in our business, we may sell or buy portions of our company or other companies or assets, including the information collected through the Site. If Company or substantially all of its assets are acquired, Scenario Information and Traffic Data will be one of the assets transferred to the acquirer. Unfortunately, we do not maintain any procedures for you to review or request changes to the information that we collect about you.

Other Sites and Information. The Site contains links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites, and it is your responsibility to review the privacy policies at those websites to confirm that you understand and agree with their policies. We also may make chat rooms, forums, message boards, and news groups available to you. Please understand that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information. We have no control over its use and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose any such information.

Updates and Changes to our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right, at any time and without notice, to add to, change, update, or modify this Privacy Policy, simply by posting such change, update, or modification on the Site and without any other notice to you. Any such change, update, or modification will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site.
